SEED: Sustainability Education Equity and Diversity
SEED (Sustainability Education Equity and Diversity)
SEED aims to ensure that all youth in our valley have the same opportunities for education, regardless of family affluence, race/ethnicity, or immigrant status.
We collaborate with various organizations and institutions in the K-12 arena to promote environmental and sustainability education at the CI Ranch and in the community. Our programming empowers young people to envision themselves enrolled at Western State Colorado University (WSCU) and engaged in meaningful work post-graduation so that they can help create a sustainable future for themselves, the Gunnison Valley, and beyond.
Once at Western, students can apply for a SEED Ambassador position, a program allowing students to engage in service learning work in the Gunnison community.
The SEED program also offers opportunities for younger students grades 4th-12th through our Summer Programs , which range in length from one week to the entirety of the summer. SEED provides numerous opportunities for kids and college students to become involved with the Coldharbour Ranch, Coldharbour Institute, Western, and the Gunnison community.
