Coldharbour Institute is closely partnering with the new Masters in Environmental Management (MEM) program at Western State Colorado University (WSCU). Students and faculty share their expertise with Coldharbour, and Coldharbour provides a natural and unique incubator for research, experimentation, social service, and cultural exchange.
Examples of the work students have already done include with Coldharbour Institute:
Willow transplanting to stabilize creek banks
Creating a raised garden bed
Water quality research and testing
Research on stream ecology
Renovating irrigation ditches
Historical research of the property and its structures
And much more…
Select MEM students have received the Clark Fellowship to support further, graduate level, projects being carried out on the property. As this relationship matures, the enthusiasm and innovation coming from the MEM program will provide huge steps towards our goals.
