Healthy watersheds provide us with clean and sustained water sources to support vibrant communities and thriving ecosystems. Our Healthy Watersheds program educates community members, students, and professionals in watershed assessment and restoration techniques to build capacity to assess and improve watershed health.
At Coldharbour Ranch we provide field-based technical trainings, conduct River Watch water quality monitoring, and host field trips to engage kids in water education. Across these activities we use Coldharbour's 242 acres of conserved wetlands as our classroom. We're striving to restore our wetlands to the highest functioning state and have worked collaboratively to design restoration plans for the ranch. We provide applied research opportunities, working with restoration practitioners, professors and graduate students to monitor and evaluate the success of restoration projects at Coldharbour Ranch. Healthy Watershed Initiatives
Watershed EducationEducation is key when it comes to managing our watersheds. By educating members of our community were creating opportunities to engage in more meaningful conversation about how we manage our water and ecosystem resources. Coldharbour engages in youth, student, and community education about the importance of our watersheds.
