Regenerative agriculture restores soil health and biodiversity by using practices that maintain and improve the health of our lands and ecosystems. Such practices prevent the loss of biodiversity while emphasizing the responsible use of water. This conscious approach results in the prioritization of soil health to grow nutrient-rich crops while sequestering carbon and maintaining ecological integrity.
Through our regenerative agriculture program we demonstrate best holistic management practices at the Coldharbour Ranch. Our producers are Savory Institute certified instructors and host workshops to strengthen holistic agricultural management practices in Colorado. Courses cover topics in holistic management including planned grazing, holistic land planning, and ecological monitoring. To expand our educational reach we host the Colorado Regenerative Network, serving as the Savory Institute’s Colorado Hub and building on the strong sustainable ranching legacy of our area. All of these efforts use our producing ranch as the classroom.

Applied ResearchColdharbour works with our producers and researchers to monitor and verify the success of our practices. Our monitoring program informs how we adapt our land management techniques. Research projects at the Coldharbour Ranch include biochar and compost applications, soil health and moisture studies, vegetation composition and succession, and more.

Education & WorkshopsWe host workshops that provide instruction in a broad range of regenerative techniques.

Meet Our Producers
We use the Coldharbour Ranch to demonstrate regenerative ranching practices and sustainable agricultural techniques including those used in animal husbandry, regenerative grazing, and farming. We work with producers to demonstrate regenerative agriculture practices on our ranch. We select our partner producers based on their values, demonstrated practices and interest in regenerative education. Our shared values include:
- A commitment to productive practices that maintain and restore the health of our soils
- Partnering on educational programing
- Collaborating in monitoring and research efforts that further the effectiveness of our regenerative practices through adapting our management practices
